ConXraying is a family-owned concrete scanning business backed by over 17 years of specialist concrete scanning and service locating experience, together with more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry.
Concrete scanning is our specialty — not an add-on to a concrete cutting service. By remaining independent from the contractor carrying out the cutting, drilling or coring, we provide objective scanning information without a commercial interest in where penetrations are made.
Our extensive GPR and construction experience allows us to interpret scan data in the context of how a structure is actually built. This helps us provide practical information onsite about reinforcement, post-tension cables, embedded services, slab thickness and other structural features.
Where required, detailed reports can be prepared and emailed directly to clients, builders, engineers and other project stakeholders.

What Can You Expect When We Arrive On Site?
After completing the required site induction, we confirm the exact location where the client, concrete cutter or contractor intends to cut, drill or core. The proposed penetration locations must be clearly marked and accessible before scanning begins.
We then use our Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system to scan the nominated area and mark the location of reinforcement, post-tension cables and other detectable structures or services within the concrete slab or wall. If a proposed penetration conflicts with a detected structure or service, we can identify an alternative location to help minimise the risk of contact during cutting or drilling.
Using the Hilti PX10 Transpointer, we can also accurately transfer the proposed penetration location to the underside or opposite side of the concrete. This helps identify where a core hole or cut will emerge and reduces the risk of penetrating above or behind obstructions such as air-conditioning ductwork, electrical cable trays, plumbing and fire sprinkler services.
Following the investigation, we can provide an onsite report with photographs and relevant scan information, which can be emailed directly to the client and other nominated project stakeholders.
